Late version of the early Triang The Princess Royal locomotive in red with later couplings and chassis with 'see through' wheels and modified to take a smoke unit (not fitted). This item has been in store for some years and comes without a box and is ideal for spares or refurbishment.The locomotive has appreciable wear on the paintwork and a crack in the centre of the bufferbeam, otherwise the body is sound. The chassis is intact but the motor is suspect but only a service will determine whether it is kaput. The valve gear is tarnished from storage and the hook is missing from the front coupling.The tender has also seen appreciable deterioration of the paintwork, the coal insert is missing and there is some corrosion on the coupling. The running gear is intact but there would appear to have been a need to weight the tender with plasticine which is part of the reason the body does not sit cleanly on the underframe. The coupling hook to the loco is loose and the pin fixing it to the tender is broken.A service and perhaps a new motor will see this running again.
