This is a lovely vintage Trifari Jelly Belly Circus Seal pin designed by Alfred Philippe. A patent was issued for this design on March 9, 1943. The seal is cast in sterling silver with a gold wash and has a clear Lucite body, prong set green faceted glass ball, and tiny blue cabochon eye. The seal also has tiny clear rhinestone accents on the head and along each leg. The back is signed TRIFARI, STERLING, and DES.PAT.NO. 135188. The pin measures approximately 2 1/4 inches in length and 1 1/2 inches in width. The overall condition of the pin is very good with normal age such as tarnish to the metal.
