Here's a SPORTS IGNITION COIL for the following models from TRIUMPH -

This is a non-ballast coil, it is made in England by Lucas.

This gives higher performance than a standard coil, the result will be easier starting and better combustion, power and economy.

It is very high quality, the plastic bag in the photo contains nuts that you use to tighten on the connecting spades for the wires.

This coil uses the push in HT leads. (I'm only saying in case anyone wants to fit this to a kit car etc...)

This function of this coil is to generate the 000's of volts required by your spark plugs, they deteriorate with age and the insulation between the wires inside can breakdown and therefore the coil needs replacing once in a while.
