TrixHO 2-8-2 UP #2494 Union Pacific Mikado This engine is beautiful. Very nicely done by Trix. Tons of detail. According to some it’s comparable to some of the brass that is out. I bought this mew in the mid 2000’s. Ran it one time, put it back in the box. I had the box last week but sadly it was accidentally tossed by the cleaning lady when I had removed it for photos. The numbers on the bottom of the Loco are 418484 but from looking around online I believe it to be the 22803 described as follows: Model 22803: Locomotive comes with a digital decoder for the international DCC system, controlled high efficiency propulsion and sound effects generator. High efficiency motor with bell-shaped armature in the boiler. 4 axles powered. Can be retrofitted with a smoke generator (Märklin 72270). Headlight and smoke generator contact will work in conventional operation and can be controlled digitally. Headlight is maintenance-free LED. Wheels have RP 25 profile. Speed-dependent steam locomotive sounds, whistle, and bell, simulation of squealing brakes, acceleration and braking delay can all be controlled digitally. Non-functioning prototype coupler on the front. Working American style automatic knuckle coupler on the rear. Close coupling between the tender and locomotive. Separately applied metal handrails. Many separately applied details. read more
