WINCHESTER INDIANA .999 FINE SILVER 1 TROY OUNCE ROUND by SILVER TOWNE
For auction is a 1 troy ounce, .999 Fine Silver round by Silver Towne. This fine silver round is lightly tarnished and has a what appears to be a strike flaw on it's front surface. The image of the woman (Walking Liberty?) has the flaw to the left of the torch and almost looks like a sword blade pointing down toward the left. Viewing under magnification shows this to be upraised surface material that had to have occured when the front surface was struck. There is another smaller piece of upraised material near the base of the head of the torch to it's left. The reverse or rear surface shows an Eagle with the words, "ONE OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER" beneath the upper rim. The name Winchester Indiana, appear to the left of the Eagle and Silver Towne plus a registration mark are below the Eagle.
The surfaces of this round have a light amount of tarnish that give the round a hint of color. Other wise it is very clean in appearance. The images and writing are sharp and without wear. The coin edging is lined but some what smooth to the touch.
