This is a really nice old trunk. I am not sure of the age and am not really good at determining age of antiques and such. I have shown photos of the outside and inside. The lid seems to be made to hold something, possibly a musical instrument, not sure. I have used it to store craft items (those items shown are not included in auction, only the trunk is for sale). I am not sure of the type of wood, the exterior is stained a rich brown and burgundy around the center. Very beautiful, I hate to part with it, but I need to downsize the items I have collected and inherited over the years.
