Here is an excellent late F orties early Fifties Tudor Oyster. Perspex 'glass' is in perfect condition with no cracks or misting Case is numbered 18319 4453 on the back. Watch measures 30mm across the back excl. crown Watch strap is new Buffalo Calf Leather. Watch winds well and runs fine, I have not tested its time keeping. There are a couple of cosmetic scratches to the back of the case, which can be seen in the pictures, which are no more than can be expected with its age. The Tudor Watch Company is the sister company to Rolex set up in 1946 by Hans Waldorf, the founder of Rolex, to produce watches guaranteed to Rolex standards of dependability at more modest prices. The Tudor Oyster was developed and produced between 1947 and 1952 and this fine example features the Tudor rose in a shield logo of this period.
