is a relic from the earliest radio/wireless age. It's a General Electric "Tungar" battery charger. These were known as lunchbox chargers for their looks. These chargers were once very common and used by both automotive and radio people. Today we'd call this item a trickle charger. The radio feature on this unit allows for 6 volt, 2 volt, and 1 1/2 volt charge voltages. Most of these units have long since met their recycling maker. Besides long term use, they suffered a lot of abuse and corrosion by spending their lives near caustic battery chemicals. This one is in basically excellent condition. The cosmetics are very good. T are a few minor chips in the paint on the lid. The olive finish is fine. All lettering, etc., is fine. This unit is working! The original Tungar bulb lights up very bright and the voltages at the terminals are correct under load. This is a fine looking piece for any radio display, especially and early wireless type set-up or hi-end 20's set-up with battery display. NOTE: Although this charger is working, it is not recommended for use without proper safety modifications. We can assume no responsibility for use! Low starting bid and no reserve on this hard to find item. Shipping in Continental US via USPS priority would be approximately $13.00. Satisfaction guaranteed. We know how to pack!
