This auction is for one 10-pack of our "rough cut" tungsten ingots, or ten troy ounces total. Also known as wolfram and meaning "heavy stone" in the Swedish language, tungsten has the highest melting point and tensile strength of any pure metal. Tungsten can be alloyed with a wide array of metals to improve their properties. It is used in the steel, construction, petroleum, military, chemical, jewelry, nuclear, medical and electronics industries. Approximately 80% of worldwide production comes from China which means it could be subject to supply disruptions. Please see the below links for more information. This batch of tungsten did not turn out as planned. Polishing to our preferred smooth surface would have dropped these ingots below one troy ounce. Instead of starting over, we are offering these at a deep discount to our standard tungsten ingots. Please note that these are polished but the surface is still quite rough as pictured, which are representative ingots from this batch. Unlike our other ingots, they are not etched and have no serial number. They will still come with our assay card and of course are fully backed with our guarantee as to weight and purity (99.95% pure tungsten).
