You are bidding for a set of prayer beads made of colorless multifaceted quartz beads and Turkish traditional sterling silver sting bead (imame) and tassel.Colorless quartz was one of the most respected gemstones in Ottoman jewelry thanks to its high refractive index making it extremely shiny and glossy. It was called "najaf", by the name of the well known Iraqi city which was under Ottoman rule. Ottoman jewelry samples ornate with najaf can only be seen in the museums, since colorless quartz is actually being colored artificially and is sold under a variety of gemstone names. These multifaceted beads stand out with their perfect uniformity in shape and color and as such they bring to you the refined taste of the Ottoman classics.
