Full title: "The Twelve Decisive Battles of the War: A History of the Eastern and Western Campaigns in relation to the actions that decided their issue" Author: William Swinton Publisher: Dick & Fitzgerald, New York, 1873 Size: 6.5 X 9.25 inches, 546 pages The book is in very good condition. There's a foil sticker in the front cover from the Little Rock book bindery, so I think this lovely old volume has been rebound. The original owner's name, R.B. Christian, is written in the front of the book, and there is a bookplate with the name of another previous owner. Otherwise, the book is unmarked. All the tissues over the engravings are intact, though there is foxing on some of them. Portraits are of Generals McClellan, Rosecrans, Meade, Sherman, Thomas, and Sheridan. Battles covered are Bull Run, Donelson, Shiloh, Antietam, Murfreesboro, Monitor & Merrimac, Vicksburg, Gettysburg, Wilderness, Atlanta, Nashville, and Five Forks. There are seven maps. This is not a reprint - it's an original. This book needs a home! Please message me through eBay if you have questions before bidding. Desmond
