Two 1880s Britannica Maps, York Yorkshire England
These two maps of the Yorkshire region of England have come from the 9th Edition of the Encyclopaedia Britannica, which was published volume by volume between 1875 and 1889. These particular maps came from various British and American printings of the ninth edition and date from the late 1880's. Both maps are about 10 1/2 by 15 inches in size. One has a center fold, the other two vertical folds as issued Condition overall is excellent, with no major defects. One map has a 1/8 inch tear in a margin, and both have a little age toning that is slightly darker at the edges. High bidder to pay $3.50 for shipping to a US or Canadian address, $5.50 to an address in the United Kingdom.
