Having closed our shop in downtown Harrison, OH, we are offering the following merchandise for sale at deep discounts(!):

Two Cherokee Influenced Corn Husk Dolls

These are two wonderful, museum-quality examples of traditional Cherokee corn husk dolls that have been updated by famed Native American Cultural artist Helen Harmon from Knoxville, Tennessee.

The first doll (with the shield) is entitled âeoeWar Danceâe and is constructed of solid corn shuck. It is 11.5âe tall by 6âe wide. It features a hammered copper (?) shield outlined with chevron and diamond symbols. Its hair consists of corn silk that has been dyed using black walnut shells. Its necklace is constructed of seed beads. The cuffs and belt are constructed of tanned leather. THIS DOLL CONTAINS NO WIRES OR FILLERS!!

The second doll (with the sunflower) is entitled âeoeVision Questâe and is constructed of solid corn shuck. It is 11.5âe tall by 6âe wide. Its hair also consists of corn silk that has been dyed using black walnut shells. Its necklace is also constructed of seed beads. The cuffs are constructed of tanned leather. THIS DOLL CONTAINS NO WIRES OR FILLERS!!

Both dolls are also accented with guinea feathers.

Helen Harmon is a renowned artist whose works are exhibited and available in museums and galleries across the south. Especially around the Cherokee, North Carolina area. We obtained these on one of our buying trips to Gatlinburg, TN in the early 1990s.

Other works by Helen Harmon have been featured at the Cherokee Museum in Cherokee, North Carolina and may actually still be available for sale (at a much higher price!) These are definitely collectible, museum-quality pieces!!

Authenticity papers are available with the War Dance doll. Sorry, we could not locate the ones for the Vision Quest doll.

We will be including the stands with this auction. They may not be the exact ones pictured, but they will consist of the same materials.
