Both of these lovely bluebird china creamers were manufactured in 1920 (one in Dec and one in April) by Homer Laughlin China Company of East Liverpool, Ohio. Both are marked "Empress", identifying a shape of dinnerware introduced by Homer Laughlin in 1914 and kept in production for many years. However, one is about 5" x 3" and the other is about 4" x 2-1/2". The smaller one could have been part of a children's set or possibly an individual creamer. The larger one is typically sized for this dinnerware. Condition: 1. Small creamer: No chipping, cracks, repairs, crazing or browning. Perfect except for wear on blue edging and some skips on decal which probably occured at the time of manufacture. 2. Large creamer: No chipping, cracks, repairs. One craze line that extends from the rim about 1/4 inch. Roughness in the glaze on the handle and on the edging w the blue is worn. Both of these pieces are notably free of the crazing that characterizes most bluebird china. These are older pieces as 1920 was probably the first year that Homer Laughlin manufactured a bluebird design on its "Empress" line. Shipping and insurance will be $10.
