Typewriter Vintage 1940's Hermes Rocket Made InSwitzerland Vintage Hermes Rocket low profile portable typewriter. Gray body with black and gray keys. It has a steel body, and the steel bottom of typewriter is covered and serves as part of the case. The cover that forms the top of the case is aluminum with a plastic handle and two metal buttons that release the lid to open. The back of the typewriter states: "Hermes. Made in Switzerland by Paillard S.A., Yverdon. Distributed in the U.S.A. by Paillard Products Inc. 265 Madison Ave. New York 16, N.Y." The typewriter itself is very clean and all the keys work with the exception of a couple of them stick down and some of them stick after they are struck Weighs nearly 9 pounds. . OVERALL - The typewriter itself is in excellent shape without any noticable scratches or marks. Comes with original metal case, with handle. Made in Switzerland, early 1940's. Still types, ribbon works and all the parts work. Some of the keys do stick as expected. Case is generally in good shape, with some scratches and wear on the edges and corners. Considering its age, in nice shape overall. We ship only to the USA.
