This is the companion to the early U.S. Air Force EM service coat I also have listed. This is a nice enlistedman's wool melton overcoat dated 1942 with a great 4th Air Force patch on the left sleeve. Coat is a well made 1942 pattern double-breasted overcoat. Great olive drab plastic buttons (all intact). Very nice tag under the lining that reads "OVERCOATS, WOOL, MELTON, O.D. / ROLL COLLAR 32 OZ. / HY-ART COAT MAKERS, INC. / CONT.W-669-QM-19990 / P.O. NO. 277 / DATED JULY 8 1942 / SPEC. Q.D. NO. 164 / DATED APRIL 2 1942 / STOCK NO. 55-O-8945 / 38L / PHILA. Q.M. DEPOT". Overall condition is very good but could use a good cleaning. The right sleeve (see picture) shows damage to the nap, probably by moths. T is no other moth damage and the wool is generally very good overall. No stains, no holes, no serious damage. Just a bit of dog hair and lint from poor storage. Postage will be based on zip code. Insurance extra at the request of the winning bidder.
