Finding an actual U.S. Marshal badge on eBay is extremely rare. 99% of the listings are reproductions. I have collected U.S. Marshal memorabilia off and on for 20 years. I purchased this Deputy U.S. Marshal badge from a friend about five years ago. It belonged to the friend's uncle, Fred J. Proctor, whose name appears on the badge. Proctor was a Deputy United States Marshal in Michigan--I think in the 40s and 50s. At that time, t was no standard U.S. Marshal badge. Each district or deputy could have their own style badge. This is an authentic, obsolete U.S. Marshal badge. The lettering is hand stamped and some of the enamel lettering has worn off, as you would expect on a duty badge of this age. Badge measures about 2" high by 1 3/4" wide. I have placed a reasonable reserve to protect my investment. Please let me know if you have any questions. Also see the U.S. Marshal book I have listed.
