I've found this out in the 200 year old barn - A 1940's (perhaps from WWII) U S Navy Vintage Brass Electric Horn for marine, boat or yacht use I presume. The horn itself is brass as a magnet will not stick. The rest of the horn must be cast iron or steel as a magnet DOES stick to it. The plate on the piece reads, No. H-6166 Serial H45 Type H4 Constract No. Date of Manufacture 194?. Voltage 115 volt A.C. Amps 0.0238 Federal Electric Co., Chicago, IL. Also stamped on it is H - 6171 and a capital M with a vertical line running down the middle. Mounting plate measures about 8" in diameter and the horn itself is nearly 9" long at the widest point. Small ones measure about 3/4 x 3/4" and the two larger ones measure about 1-3/4" x 1-1/2".
