VINTAGE UNITED FRUIT COMPANY - UFCo - SHIPPING LINE STEAMSHIP CHINA This uncommon creamer will make a fine addition to any steamship cargo & passenger line china or United Fruit Co collection - don't miss out! This great little creamer is from the United Fruit Company shipping lines and is topmarked with the UFCo logo that includes a life preserver motif. It was made by Lamberton Scammell in 1941, and the pattern is called "Castilla" (UFC-3). This pattern is listed in Barbara Conroy's Restaurant China Volume 1 on pg. 145; pg. 183 has more details about the company. The design is nicely detailed with a vibrant blue color. It is in very good condition - no cracks, no hairlines, only one small underside chip and an underglaze blop that doesn't affect how it displays. T is some light wear on the handle and edges. Please see the pictures, as I took care to show the creamer from all different angles. It is unusual to find a creamer with a spout and handle in such great condition and a topmark that is so clear. The backstamp says "1941" "Lamberton" (Crown and leaf backstamp with an S and China inside) "Scammell". The creamer measures approximately 2-5/8" tall (bottom to top of spout) and 3-1/4" tall (bottom to top of handle).
