This auction is for an Ultimate Soldier Focke Wulf Fw-190D-9 German WWII fighter plane in 1:32 scale. The plane depicted in this model is a known as "Red 3". Red 3 is probably one of the most unusual and interesting planes in the whole series. � The bottom of Red 3 is painted in a bright red and white stripe pattern rather than the usual blue camo. � Red 3 was assigned to protect Messerschmitt 262 jet fighters as they were taking off and landing and were at their most vulnerable. � The red and white stripe were to indicate to German anti-aricraft gunners that they were friendly fighters. � This was similar to the D-day stripes on Allied aircraft. This is a Limited Edition production run. All of the insignia and graphics are painted on, not decals. It has a spinnable prop and retractable landing gear. It is mint in the original box and has never been displayed. Unfortunately the 21 Century Toy Company that made these is now out of business, so there won't be any more of these made.
