ABOUT US: Hello, we are Hung Shing, T.S. The T and S stands for True Sharp . We are a company that specializes in custom modifying, re-aligning, & sharpening the geometry and edge of swords and knives by hand for maximum cutting performance. We also carry our own line of specially designed Hung Shing Katanas, Chinese Swords, Wakizashis, Tantos and Knives, which will be available soon. Please check back with us at a later time for the grand opening. The swords currently in our product line are all pre-made by other manufacturers that we have extensively modified and sharpened. These swords are not mirror polished to keep the cost low for our customers. Please inquire for a fully mirror/hybrid polish is requested for a reasonable additional cost. WHAT DO WE SEE ABOUT HUNG SHING TRUE SHARP: If you are a sword collector, a practitioner or an enthusiast, you will know your swords don't ever come very sharp when you buy them. Mass producers, tradional masters, swords manufacturers know the most difficult and most time consuming step is the process to finish the production blade for a real sharp razor edge which are often left out to drive down cost. To put it bluntly, "The edge" on these katanas, swords and tantos are left at a "pointy angle" to save money and production time. Today's swords are not produced sharp like the feudal times where swordsmen depend their lives on it. Poor geometry often lead to difficulty to a sharp edge. Angles are a tricky thing. If the blade appears to have a good geometry as a whole, but then has a poor finish close to the middle of the blade or at the edge, then this will cause a drastic change in its angle and shape, which adversely affects the blade's sharpness, entry angle, and cutting performance. WHAT WE DO AT HUNG SHING TRUE SHARP: We at Hung Shing True Sharp see these flaws and then custom hand polish off the imperfections on the blade's finish. In doing so we straighten out the geometry and alignment of the blade until a true razor sharp edge is formed naturally. The sword is then moderately polished some more to even out the scratching and markings from the re-shaped blade for a smooth finish. The final step after the finish is our Hung Shing True Sharp Signature Process .....which is completed by positioning the blade at an special angle on the wetstone to give it an even sharper than razor edge. It will be the SHARPEST BLADE you have ever felt on any sword! The cutting performace due to the blade geometry re-alignment will amaze you when you feel how much less resistance there is during tamishigiri cutting test!
