Ultra-Rare McINTOSH C-8 TUBE AUDIO COMPENSATOR At a recent estate sale, we found the ultra-rare MCINTOSH C-8 TUBE AUDIO COMPENSATOR PRE-AMP This beauty comes with the original Mahogany Case and all knobs are original and all lettering is perfect. It is remarkably clean inside and out. We were unable to test it as it must be used with with either a McIntosh MC - 30 or MC - 60 from which it is powered. It uses a 3- 12AX7 circuit and has inputs for Phono 1, Phono 2 ( Variable Cartridge Capacitance is offered on Phono 2 ), Tuner, Tape and Mic. It also has a Record Compensation section which is a must if you play pre-1955 78's. It allows you to adjust the Turnover and Rolloff frequencies for those 78's. Due to it's age we are selling it AS IS. The connecting cable which has an octal plug at each end, which connects the C-8 to either of the other units is missing the octal plug on one end so you will need to replace it. Good luck bidding!
