This is a Ultra Rare piece of United States Highway system history. The Lincoln Highway was the first coast to coast highway in the US. It opened around 1913. This sign was commissioned by the California State Automobile Association. This sign, according to the history of the highway was used for only 2 years, 1915-1916. Very hard to find in any condition. Most of the signs outside city limits were used for target practice, as seen with this sign. It has bullet holes and chips in the porcelain, but what a piece of history. I have never seen one in person until now. Was with the previous owner for over 60 years. Sign measures 12"x20". Most of these signs are in museums Shipping will be &14.95.
