No Reserve! Opening Bid is $999.00 Ultra Rare 1940's 8 Day Vintage Gubelin 'Foursome' Travel Alarm / Weather Center. By far and away the best available on Ebay ! Gubelin is a high-grade European jewelry and wristwatch retailer with a long history of contracting with the finest Swiss watch manufacturers (including Audemars Piguet and Patek Philippe) to produce timepieces under their own name, similar to Tiffany & Co. This is truly a fine example showcasing a highend timepiece of yesteryear. As you know, the more complications, the more valuable. Features : Overall: All Original condition and nearly perfect and running well. Loud alarm bell (sounds like a vintage telephone ringing). Phenomenal dials and leather case. All original, well preserved. Clean and crisp. Leather Case : Nearly perfect leather casing featuring a carmel color with its original patina with only the smallest single scuffs on the inside leather case back (from the winding crown rubbing it) and outside case back only (from touching whatever surface this was rested on) and a small leather flaw near the hingepin for the four cluster time/weather center - - but thats it! No other rips/tears, flaws like others on the web that are ratted out. This one is in near perfect condition. The box, closed, measures 4.25" inches x 3.40" inches. Alarm Clock / Time Clock - The Gubelin signed clock featured started right up with a few winds and kept good time. Alarm rings loudly like an old time telephone ringer. The Gubelin clock is an (8) day clock! The dial is original and is signed Gubelin, (8), swiss. The original clock dial is silver has raised gold numerals. The hour and minute hand are radium filled. The alarm hand is a plain stick hand for setting alarm time. The clock winds from below the 6 oclock position with a large winding knob. The alarm sets from the clock backside. I was asked by someone if I could photograph the clock movement. On the clock / alarm back t are four screws. Three in the center which I can remove easily but the fourth screw is inside of the alarm set button. It is being stubborn and its head is stripping/stripped. Because I cannot remove this screw, I cannot remove the case back to get you a photo. My apologies. Any suggestions would be helpful. Barometer : Beautiful barometer has true barometer hand that moves automatically based on barometric pressure. This hand is blued steel. A second hand is to mark w the barometric pressure was or will be. This rotates from the center with the small rectangular button in the dial center on top of the crystal. The all original dial is silver with gold and black details / printing ! Thermometer : Temperature is shown with a blued steel hand that moves automatically based on temperature. Farenheit and celcius scales are shown on the dial in black and gold on this orignal dial! Triple Calendar - Very crisp original silver dial with black numeric date detailing oun the outer dial edging trimmed in gold. In the triple calendar dial center are the day of the week in the 12 oclock position and the month in the 6 oclock position! Calendar advances automatically as the clock advances to the next date based on time. Very nice!!!!!!!!!!!! Clock casing : Case is a very clean and crisp and wear free gold filled case, bezels, backs, screws and knobs. All are bright gold and are in excellent condition.
