A rare find we are offering to you this week. Produced by The Northwood Glass Co in Martin's Ferry, Ohio circa 1891We have two of these scarce Northwood Leaf Mold pattern cologne bottles, each in near perfect condition. Done in spatter glass, red cranberry spattered on canary glass, each glows nicely under black light. Not a chip , no scratches, or any defects. Original stopper is present. Each fit perfectly, and are in the faceted pattern shown in Northwood sales literature. T are a few tiny defects on points of facets on stoppers, the only defects we can detect. A cologne in this pattern is imaged at page 45 of "Harry Northwood, the Early Years, 1881-1900" Heacock, Measell, and Wiggins, shown with a replacement stopper. The fact that this reference book's writers could not find a cologne with original stopper attests to the scarcity of the piece. How special to have two available. However each is being sold separately. This auction is for the cologne bottle pictured. See my other auctions for the matching bottle. Each stands 5 1/2 inches to the top of the stopper, another good indication of originality. They are 3" wide at widest point. Very pretty glass, too, as any Northwood collector is familiar with. Both pieces unmarked. This piece, cologne bottle "A" has less red glass than "B", as you can probably see. Inspect images closely
