Unusual, square shaped Limoges footed cup saucer with encrusted gilt floral swags, and fine detailing. Saucer measures 4-1/8" x 4-1/8", and cup stands 2-5/8" high. Condition: T is a tiny flake on the top inside edge, UNDER the gilt. Impossible to tell, if this damage took place at the time of original decoration, or has been "touched up". T is no interruption in the gilt work. T is NO other chip, crack, crazing, or loss to decoration of the cup. Very minor wear to the narrow gilt edge of saucer. NO chips, cracks or crazing. See images below. Marked on the bottom of both saucer, with green, underglaze, Green J.P.L. France, used by Jean Pouyat, 1890-1932. T is also a gold decorator's mark, which looks like stylized initials LEK. The cup is marked with the green J.P. underscored over "L.", used by Jean Pouyat 1862- early 1900s. T is an additional red mark "France". Pelieve this set was produced c.1890-1900. It is quite lovely, despite the small irregularity. Take a look!
