On offer here is a reasonably clean example of a scarce, very well made classic French rangefinder camera that does not turn up too often with the uncommon Oplar 5cm f3.5 lens (Serial No:029717).This camera is i believe a Foca PF2B manufactured in the early 1950's by O.P.L-Foca.France and is designed to take standard 35mm film. This camera bears more than a passing resemblance to the famous Leica cameras of the same period. The camera (Serial Number:42.275 B) appears to be complete, however it will need some significant repairs if it is to be used again. The main problem is the shutter blinds will need replacing as they are like lace curtains! The shutter is not currently working and only one blind is visible, presumably the second one is inside the body. The coupled rangefinder is very faint and will need some work. There is plenty of information on these uncommon cameras on the internet.I suspect they were made in fairly small numbers. The cosmetic condition can be seen in the photos so please study them to see what you are bidding on.There are a few scuffs here and there but no dents or deep scratches and generally the camera is quite presentable. The Lens is in a similar cosmetic condition to the camera with hazy optics with a few light scratches. The camera comes with what looks like the genuine leather case.(Not marked Foca,Made in Belgium) read more
