This is a tremendous underglaze blue, lidded censer with a stricking dragon motif. TYPE: Minyao Censer, MARK: Xuande, PERIOD: Xuande (1426-1435). It is in excellent, original condition, without any cracks, chips, or repairs. Dragon's Tomb does its absolute best in dating our porcelain. We have a group of eight experts from China, Hong Kong, and the United States with combined experience of over 200 years in the field of Chinese antiques. They form a consensus opinion regarding the approximate date of manufacture of each individual piece. This is the period that we publish on our website and it is done in good faith and never with any intent to deceive. Visually dating Chinese porcelain is not an exact science, but is a formulation of educated opinion. We make mistakes as do the experts from major museums and auction houses. We provide beautiful pieces at very fair prices and will not be held responsible for differing opinions regarding our dating.
