This auction is for one fabulous urn -- or vase, measuring 11-7/8 inches tall by 7-1/2 inches in diameter across the body, and 5-1/4 inches across the outer edge of the lip. Pattern number is 2236 . The artist on this piece is Teresa Liana. The colors in this piece are: shades of cobalt blue, shades of green, pale red, and golden yellow on a creamy white ground with detailing in black. The three photos show the entire artistic pattern. The premiere pottery from Poland, Unikat from Ceramika Artystyczna is hand-painted and signed by the artist. Collectors prize this stoneware for its quality craftsmanship, while everyday users love it for being safe to use in oven, microwave, freezer, and dishwasher. (But don’t take it directly from the freezer to the oven/micro; allow it to warm up, first.) The beauty of Unikat is the user’s ability to buy pieces in any number of patterns and still ensure overall color coordination. Each piece of stoneware has an unglazed ring on the bottom. I highly recommend using a piece of extra-fine sandpaper (#300 or higher) to smooth this down. It prevents scratching when you stack your stoneware.
