This is a Unique METRO #3 Size German Made Plane in excellent condition. The blade holding assembly is quite unique. I'm guessing that the plane was made around 1910 / 1920. Bed: The japanning is at about 90+%, No.3 is cast into the front and "DRPa", Germany is cast behind the frog. No chips or cracks with a couple of tiny clean smooth pit spots on the sole that may not show in the pictures. Frog: The japanning is at about 95+%, no chips or cracks, with a 3 and Germany cast into the back. Cap: The nickel is at about 40%, no chips, cracks, or pits, with 3 and Germany cast into the back. The cap is similar to the Stanley Liberty Bell style. Blade Depth Adjustment: Nice casting, METRO cast into the front, 13 and Germany cast into the back, with no chips cracks or pits. Blade: Shows at least an inch or more of temper, stamped Germany, no chips or cracks, with a few very light clean smooth pit spots mostly on the back. Knob: Excellent with a fair amount of original finish. Tote: Excellent with no chips, cracks or repairs. All screw slots, threads, and knurling are nice. It will make a nice addition to your collection. This plane has been carefully cleaned and described as we want you to see what you are bidding on without surprises.
