Joan Yakopatz has been creating beautiful ceramic works for decades, and her Ceramics by Yak are known and cherished throughout the world. She gets these incredible pieces in raw-clay form and then begins an extensive process of cleaning, firing, and painting that often lasts days. This amazing one-of-a-kind piece is titled "Drift Wood Bear" and is signed delicately by the artist. A must have for any bear collector. It measures about 9 1/2 inches tall. The beast's gentle eyes seem almost real with their glossy sheen, and her slightly open mouth reveals her peach-pink tongue. The bust of the bear is formed out of the detailed wood making it hard to differentiate w the bear begins and the wood ends. This piece is incredibly life-like in shades of chestnut and nutmeg, and you will never find another in its class .
