This bird features the bird in flight with two wings, a turned head with an inserted hardwood bill. It is carved in the style of some very early decorative decoys. One wing is mounted on the front of the bird and one on the back. Please take a close look at the photos to see how they are mounted. It has a sawtooth hanger on the back for hanging it on the wall. It is very nicely painted with much feather detail and great blending of the colors. Please look carefully at all the photos. This Snipe was carved/painted by Ken Kirby. Ken is an experienced carver of over 25 years whose decoys have been sold in decoy shops in NC, MD, NJ, ME and on ebay auctions for many years. He has won many ribbons at decoy carving competitions. This is a great bird for over a mantle piece. It is heat stamped "Ken Kirby" on the back and is signed and dated 2013. Measurements: This bird measures 9" from bill to tail and has a wingspan of 11". It is approximately a 3/4 size bird with a very unique pose.
