this is a really exquisite piece, purchased in England. It dates to c. 1780. There are no marks as is typical of the time. There are 5 large diamonds, probably almost a carat each, and 10 small diamonds. The backs of the diamonds are close mounted, ie. no light shines through. This was the way they set diamonds back then. I don't know its origins. It could be Spanish. It is a very wearable piece of jewelry and I doubt whether you'll see another like it! The condition is excellent. The chain is new. It measures 2 inches x 1 5/8inches.
