~Unique Hand-painted Tibetan Buddhist healing Medicine Buddha Statue~

~Medicine Buddha looks very peaceful and contemplative, wearing a slight smile and sitting upon his Lotus Throne in this almost 6" statue. This heavy statue is an extremely finely detailed portrayal of this Buddha and portrays him with all the "correct" symbols. In addition, the coloration is stunning, hand-painted, more pastel than is shown in my full sun pictures , and almost ethereal: I have never seen anything quite like this Medicine Buddha! This statue would work in the garden as well as on the altar. Please note that the shipping expense is actual cost, with no shipping or handling added!! The pictures below are close-ups. Please enlarge my pictures. They are non-eBay served, and quite large.~ ~Presented above is a close-up picture of the lower half of the front portion. This statue has been molded from cold cast resin, but it has a brassy, metallic look to it and the colors are radiant and shimmery, though a bit less bright than shown in the pictures--more on the softer, pastel side. Medicine Buddha's particular practice or "puja" is done by those suffering from emotional or physical afflictions, although it is equally common to work with Medicine Buddha for the benefit of another person, or all people who are suffering. It is believed that just viewing Medicine Buddha can be of benefit to the ill, and I recently gave this particular statue to a friend who is struggling with cancer. But the affliction can be emotional, as well.~ ~I carry two cold cast Medicine Buddha statues. This one is shaped on the back like a typical statue and is a bit smaller--the other has a flat disc back and is listing number 350478584149. In addition to being tall, Medicine Buddha is approximately 4 1/2" in width and weighs close to 2 pounds and will come to you enclosed in his own special box, with styrofoam molded inserts. His long ear lobes identify him as Tibetan, as opposed to other Buddhist traditions, such as Japanese or Indonesian.~ ~Regardless of your spiritual beliefs, this striking and unusual statue would be a wonderful addition to your collection, or as a gift to an ailing friend. Below is another detail picture of the bottom portion of the statue. The picture on the left shows the felt that has been attached to the bottom of this quality statue to protect your furniture or altar.~ ~Medicine Buddha is recognizable by the presence of 3 symbols. First, he is always holding an "alms" bowl in his left hand. Secondly, his right hand is in the "mudra", or gesture of protection or meditation, and the fact that the protection is from illness is indicated by the presence of the Myrobalan plant, which is the third symbol. This healing plant is shown in this portrayal with the stem clasped between his right index finger and thumb.~ ~For more information about Medicine Buddha, please look for the stars *** below.
