This is a really unique political collectible for the Kennedy-Johnson 1961 Inauguration! It is a 12in. long by 9 1/4 in. wide heavy "shiny" paper menu from the Savarin Restaurant in Washington, DC, with great photos on the cover of the menu of Kennedy and Johnson with the words "Inauguration 1961" appearing in bold red letters at the top. Inside the piece is the menu itself, and on the top right page it is printed:"Inauguration Day Friday, January 20, 1961." Shows how prices have changed as well. One of the more expensive items on the menu is the Roast Top Sirloin at $2.50 for the complete dinner. Coffee was 15 cents, fresh apple pie 25 cents, and a cup of clam chowder was also 25 cents. The backside of the menu is blank. The item is in excellent condition with no tears, rips, stains, etc. I obtained the piece in a recently purchased and very large Kennedy collection, and from the materials in the collection, it's clear that the original owners were invited and went to the Inauguration! Thanks for looking! Please check out my other political items, and feedback rating, on eBay!
