Outstanding blown and handcrafted Murano glass duck by V. Nason & C., Murano, Italy. The piece is approximately 3-3/4" x 4-3/4" x 2". It is evident that a master craftsperson made this piece! Crystal clear glass surrounds tiny petals or scallops of glass that look like actual feathers - I have never seen anything like it! Each petal is a dark gray glass, with tiny air bubbles on the edges that produce a lighter gray, and gives the appearance of real feathers. Truly amazing! V. Nason was founded in 1923 by master glassman, Vincenzo Nason. Nason pieces are collected around the world and appear in many museums, including The Corning Museum of Glass, in Corning, New York. The V. Nason label is affixed to the bird's breast; t had been an additional label on the highly polished pontil bottom, but it had been removed. Condition: Excellent!
