This is absolutely unique authentic Imperial Russian solid silver,gold&garnet precious stone jewellery box by Faberge's workshop c1880's. Decorated with 1 carat genuine garnet precious stone with amazing deep blood red colour,old way european cut. In the middle of the box is applied the Imperial russian coat of arms-the double headed eagle. The box is made in the traditional russian felegree style. The box is 7cm/5cm. Mint condition,with its original patina.It is hallmarked with the 84 silver mark,and with Faberge's halmark"ФÐÐ'Ð*Ð Ð-Ð*" in russian. This unique masterpiece has a really amazing story- it has been awarded to Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna by hes majesty Nicholas II. Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna of Russia , known as "Miechen" or "Maria Pavlovna the Elder" (May 14, 1854 - September 6, 1920) was born Marie Alexandrine Elisabeth Eleonore of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, daughter of Grand Duke Friedrich Franz II of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and Augusta of Reuss-Köstritz.She married the third son of Alexander II of Russia, Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich of Russia (April 22, 1847 - February 17, 1909) on August 28, 1874.
