This is a rare Hippie, flower child maxi gown treasure found! It is very nicely made with white lace trim and flounces for that Romantic look so important in the 1960's.

And that is excatly what this gown is, a 1960's maxi gown in good condition. Before you go any further, I will state the one main problem with the gown and that is several holes in the bottom flounce, as if the gown got caught up in machinery. Once I rode my bike in a long skirt, trying to be dramatic, and it got caught in the pedal mechanism and that's what it looked like! Well, I learned anyway! Silly me!

Anyway, to repair this would mean either delicate application of fabric backing, applique's to cover them, like more lacework or simply trimming this off. You could probably find a good way of making this work well for you, it is such a lovely gown! The rest of the gown is in excellent condition with no stains or other holes.

The undergown is a pinky lavender sateen that actually needs a good pressing. The overlay is a beautiful soft misty blue organza. What I especially love is the way the flowers are delicately "painted" on in white. They seem suspended in air. Just beautiful!

T is a back zipper, the sleeves are short but angel bell wide, kimono style, t is a criss cross surplice effect at the bodice with flattering ruching and an attached cummerbund effect that ties in the back. The lace trim is along the neckline, the waist front, above the flounce and along the ends of the sleeves.

The gown flares out gracefully. The size appears to be a size 5/6 with the following measurements: 33 1/2" bust, 26" waist and 36" hips. The length of the gown from the top of the shoulder to the hemline is 54". The sweep is 90".

The light blue shade is beautiful, the effect vintage dreamy,and another one-of-a-kind treasure to behold with you in it!
