A very nice, unissued July 1864 pattern cartridge box complete with tins. I listed this originally with the matching cap pouch, but for some reason known only to E-bay it was pulled. THIS IS NOT A WEAPON - THIS IS NOT AMMUNITION - IT IS A LEATHER BOX OVER 140 YEARS OLD TO DESIGNED TO CARRY CARTRIDGES. (No cartridges included). Having said that - This is a regulation pattern leather cartridge box. The leather has some very light crazing in places and some of the surface has come off of the closure strap. At the center of the flap is an embossed oval with "US" at center. Stamped at the lower left corner of the closure flap is an oval with "R. WHITE / ORD DEPT / SUB-INSPECTOR" in three lines. Stamped on the back of the box between the belt loops is "S. M. YOUNG / & CO. / NEWARK / N.J." in four lines. The markings from the leather vice are clear in several places. Sorry - no box strap. The tins are like new and still have a coating of solder rosin on them. A nice addition to anyone's collection. Please see the pictures. I prefer paypal, but will accept check or money order drawn on US currency. Shipment will follow clearance of funds. I will insure the object for full value, but buyer will have add the insurance cost to the final cost.
