Up for auction is a beautiful vintage mantle or table clock, with a Western horse theme. This mid-century piece has an electric clock, with a second hand, in a molded metal casing. It features a pair of cowboy boots, cowboy hat, rope and a holstered six shooter at the bottom. The clock is mounted on a natural wood base, along with a figure of a horse in ornamental saddle. The metal in the clock and the horse appears to be a non-magnetic alloy, brass/gold colored. Domed glass covers the clock's dial. The back of the clock is stamped with the following: USE ON AC CURRENT ONLY 60 CYCLE-115 VOLT 2W MANUFACTURED BY UNITED CLOCK CORP., BROOKLYN, NEW YORK LICENSED UNDER WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORP. PAT. NO. 2140365 The issue date for the patent mentioned above is December 13, 1938 according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office website. This would indicate that the clock is from that time period. The base is stamped "NO. 315" on the back underneath the clock. The piece measures approximately 12 inches high, 17 inches wide, and 5 inches deep. The clock runs, although I removed the cord because it was frayed and did not want to ship it with a frayed cord.
