***PLEASE SEE THE Q&A BELOW FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THIS TRIPOD AND MOUNT FROM ANOTHER VERY HELPFUL eBAYER*** This is a Unitron altazimuth mount and wooden field tripod for a refractor telescope in its original box. I vacuumed the cobwebs off but haven’t cleaned this in any other way. All of the movements on the mount are silky smooth and fully operational. The tripod legs have a few minor scratches from use but no cracks or structural defects. On one of the legs, the bracket that connects the leg to the center brace is missing one of its #8-32 machine screws and a nut, which is easily replaced at any hardware store. The wooden box is stamped “UNITRON No. 114” and still has a partial label indicating it was purchased at Peerless Camera Store in New York City, probably in the 1950s based on the store’s Lexington Avenue location and the font used for the store name . There are some minor age-related stains on the interior of the wooden box and the lid is slightly warped but the box is otherwise in very good condition. The total height of the tripod and mount when open is 56”. The dimensions of the wooden box are 38-3/4” x 7” x 6-3/4”.
