In 1923, Dunhill started the Parker Pipe Co., Ltd, as a subsidiary of Dunhill. With this company (Parker Pipe Co., Ltd.) Dunhill had a place to send those bowls that did not meet their standards of quality. The pipes produced used the Dunhill patents and finishing techniques to produce a “Dunhill” like pipe with minor changes to marketing. At the time, Dunhill management was adamant that Parker Pipes would not be treated as a poor cousin (or “seconds” line) to the Dunhill models. However, after WWII, this changed in that upper management decided to make the Parker Pipes a “Ford” and the Dunhill pipes a “Lincoln”. Some say this caused the death knell to an extremely good pipe and that Parker was only able to maintain good quality until the mid 1950’s. After collecting and studying Parker Pipes since 1991, I believe the quality was maintained at a high level until the early to mid 1980’s. The level of quality was brought back up from a low point in the early to mid 1990’s and is still at a good level today for a medium grade pipe.

Stem: Original with a white “P” in a diamond stamping on it.
Condition: Unsmoked!
Additional: Comes with a Parker Pipe Sleeve (not shown) and original inner tube. This is a newer production pipe (circa 1992-1995) and bears the older style nomenclature. I’ve smoked several pieces from this period and they all have been very good smokers!

I normally use First Class Mail International at a cost of $8.00 to $12.00. The cost will vary depending on the destination and total weight of the package. For example, a 6 ounce package shipped to Italy will be charged $8.00. If the value of the package is $100.00 or more, the package may be sent Registered (additional cost) which will give the package more secure handling in transit. Shipping time varies but is generally 7 –10 days, sometimes longer.
