Big unused fully forged bolstered Lamson carbon steel chef knife a hair under 12.5 inch blade and 17 3/4 inches overall length in stunning 99.9% new condition. Handle is rosewood triple brass riveted with the classic oversized Lamson cutlers/compression rivets, handle scales are fitted nicely to tang and bolster with no gaps and no excessive filler epoxy. Knife had some very minor rust which left some light pepper spots, nothing major or distracting, more on the right hand side of the blade. The knife's previous owner cleaned it a bit with some fine sandpaper, t are some fine scratches in spots that can be seen when held at an angle to catch the light. Overall the condition is not bad considering this has been in cold storage for some time. I thought I'd leave any more thorough cleaning to the discretion of this knife's lucky new owner. I have seen several different knives of this general format made by Ontario and Clyde and this one is a bit finer with less bulk, the grinding is a bit finer. By finer I mean better, this is much more manueverable than some of the ultra thick chef knives made for the military. This knife has never been used and is still pretty sharp, I would be happy to hone to it's full potential at the winning bidder's request. A layer of oil has been added to the blade after photo's were taken to preserve the surface.
