Unused Irish Double Damask Linen Tablecloth and Napkins

Offered for auction in the original Saks Fifth Avenue box with the original labels identifying that the tablecloth and the 12 matching napkins were made in northern Ireland exclusively for Saks Fifth Avenue is a white banquet tablecloth and 12 napkins. As you can see from the photographs these were never used and are still held together by blue ribbon bows. The tablecloth is 72 inches by 108 inches and the napkins are 22 inches by 22 inches. Both are double damask and are hand hemmed on two sides with selvedges on the other two sides. The pattern in the napkins, which is mirrored in a larger scale in the tablecloth combines what I think are acanthus leaves forming a swirl above which is a composition of flowers and leaves. One flower has pointed petals like a daisy while the other flower has more broad petals which could be a simple rose. The pattern is composed of a 9 inch circular center combining the acanthus leaves and flowers, and then a square pattern band around the napkin with the corners anchored by a 5 1/2 inch combination of flower and leaves, while the sections connection the corners is 2 3/4 inches tall. The square is set one inch from the edges of the napkin. I did not open up the tablecloth, only one of the napkins. Judging by the pattern I think these date from the 1950s.
