This panel is from a vintage unused Kimono Roll so no seam lines! This one is an Artificial Silk with a wonderful design. Good drape with a bit of weight to it & a slightly 'toothed' texture to the hand. The Background is a pale Primrose & woven throughout with a classic Seghaia Scalloped design. The design is lovely, big, bold Poppy like blooms in shades of Scarlet or White with Gold edging & detailing, touches of pale Green & Cream at the central Stamen. Add in scattered Sakura blooms in White with pale green leaves & dark gold centres. Simply lovely. There is a small issue with the condition - while generally very good & effectively as new in many ways, there has been 'dye bleed' from the Scarlet blooms, l can only think this has been stored folded face to face at some point as the dye marks are superficially impressed rather than bleeding out from the red blooms. Please see the photo'. The panel is 14.25 ins wide x 65 ins long. Bit longer than photo, with 4 complete scarlet Poppies & 2 white ones. VERY LONG, Beautiful bold design. Most of my fabrics are sourced from Japan for my own handicraft projects & l sell my excess, so if you see one you like, please bid - it may be the only piece like it l ever list! I do not pretend to be an expert, l am an enthusiast with a love of fabric and want my customers to be happy with their purchase - l would never deliberately mislead. I describe to the best of my ability & am quite 'picky' about pointing out even minor flaws so no nasty surprises. All my fabrics are Vintage and many are taken from Vintage Kimono's no longer usable so recycled for their wonderful fabric. I unpick them very carefully, but by their nature there may be fine pinholes along the seam line & some minor colour change across the seam line - if this is prominent l will comment on it. Vintage fabrics are rarely flawless - and when they are tend to be prohibitively expensive! I do not have the expertise to remove some marks so leave that to those of you who are more expert and for the same reason l do not iron my fabrics prior to sending them out as this may fix discolouration & prevent you using your skills if you choose to do so - though they are rarely badly creased in any case. I describe colours to the best of my ability but perceptions & monitors do vary so if you have precise colour matches in mind, on line buying may not be for you. Having said that these fabrics are wonderful for their uniqueness, character, often classic design & a quality of manufacture not always seen these days. Many are works of Art in their own right & more than repay a bit of creativity in avoiding any flaws.Vintage Patination (by that l mean uniform colour softening NOT mottling or fabric 'rust') adds to their soul & beauty. In these days of Recession what better time to buy these beautiful & low priced fabrics to create something fabulous for your home or small business. My fabrics come from a smoke free home - l do have pets but they are not allowed in my fabric room! These fabrics are perfect for all kinds of handicrafts.
