Unusual 1934 Rookwood Art Deco Lady Bust

This bust of a lady is in perfect condition with no cracks, chips or crazing and has a white matte finish. Measures 8" in height, 7 1/2" wide and 4 1/4" deep. Marked on the bottom with the Rookwood R-P Mark with the fourteen flame points. Roman Numerals XXXIV for the year 1934 and numbered 2026. The original paper stamp is attached although held in place with tape. This is dated 10-27-34 with Mat #15 and numbered 2026 again. I did some research and found information for Depression era Rookwood pieces and the following is quoted in parts from "The Book of Rookwood Pottery" by Herbert Peck. "During the Depression years 1932-36 virtually no records were kept as the clerical staff had been layed off. Although the whistle was blown every morning to summon the work force, (described as a subterfuge) no workers arrived and a few decorators were employed intermittently. These workers worked without pay, knowing that if and when money came in from sales they would get a share. Earl Menzel, the master potter, was t, casting pieces in the molds and occasionally turning a piece on the wheel for the visitors to see. John Wareham's (Rookwood President 1934-54) chauffeur worked when needed, preparing clays, spraying glazes, loading and unloading the kilns.
