An unusual hand held nineteenth century optometrist's trial lens set mounted in a dark patinated brass frame. Measures 17.5 inches. Excellent quality construction. T are 24 lenses. Each lens has the strength stamped on the frame next to the lens, starting at .25 and increasing to 10.00. Wood handle has a nice patina. T is minimal wear to the patination on the frame, most on the two side rails. T are no cracked lenses. Some are scratched. T are no makers marks or patent dates. An intriguing piece fresh from a Connecticut estate and sold without reserve. Maximum shipping in the U.S. is $9.00 Priority Mial plus insurance on the selling price.
