On offer is this wonderful 18th century Pearlware 5-stem tulip vase, quite a rare item, it is an English piece with an oriental influence & also has a delft type feel. The vase holds 5 tulip stems, it was not made for quantity as Tulips would be expensive, at one time treated as a form of currency, it would have been used only by the wealthy, so i don,t imagine there were too many vases around. This vase measures 7" tall & 7" across, the vase is totally watertight, there is a very fine short age line in the top of one of the end vases, there are chips around the base (see photo's) & chips around both end vases & one vase second along the row (see photo's), this is the nature of this pottery it is easily chipped & not surprising when you've been around well over 200 yrs.
