An interesting 1890s Antique leather purse with Sterling Silver mounts by Gorham. The mounts are made of thick heavy cast sterling silver, and decorated with figures in various poses. The leather purse is finished with an embossed shark skin effect. The purse could do with a good clean, and the catch is missing, still a beautiful and rare example, that I am sure would be well worth having restored. The overall size of the bag itself is 7-1/2" wide by 8-1/2" high. The ring and clip at the top are another 3" long. The sterling silver is stamped with the Gorham marks and number 140.
