We have a number of items acquired from a private museum in the Orkney Islands in the far north of Scotland. The owner of the museum died in 1990 and his estate was sold by Bonhams in Edinburgh. This item is from that museum collection. This is a well painted pint mug. It is beautifully painted in famille rose colours with mandarin figures, original gilding, and dates from the mid 1700's. The figures are wearing green and cherry red gowns, and t is a parrot on a swing! It measures 4.5 inches tall (11.6cm). 3.7 inches across opening (9.3cm). Condition is very good, but t is a crack running the length of the mug from a chip in the rim but this crack is hardly visible from the outside. Insured Airmail to China and USA is $24, UK postage is £3
